[!NOTE] This repo replaces narrative-prompt-polish (renamed and fully re-architected on 2026-09-14). The old implementation (session replay / intent skeleton / single-shot LLM rewrite / conversable sub-agent) is fully archived in legacy/0.2.0-subagent/.

What you get

• ✨ One-click template injection —— click ✨ in the composer's right slot to inject the "polish prompt" template; your current draft is auto-embedded at the <content> placeholder.
• 🚫 Inject only, never send —— the source contains no submit action at all; the user decides whether to send. The only failure point is inputActions not injected, in which case it shows an explicit toast (red line 9: no silent fallback).
• 🔌 Zero dependencies —— no network, no model calls, no sub-agents, no disk writes, no config reads, no trace writes. The entire path has no external dependencies, so there's no "failure fallback" surface.
• 🧠 Main agent rewrites —— after the user presses Enter, the current session's main agent (naturally holds all history, tools, and file access) rewrites the prompt with full context; the reply is the finished product. The plugin doesn't participate and doesn't need a model.
• 🔁 Idempotent —— if the composer already contains this template, it doesn't re-wrap; just shows a gentle toast.
• 📝 Draft preserved —— when there's a draft, it's kept verbatim (no indentation, no rewriting), embedded at the <content> placeholder.
• 🎯 Official keyed slot —— registers to DSH's official conversation.input.right (kind=list / scope=session); no dependency on dsh-better-sidebar.
• 🧪 6-gate preflight —— checks syntax / size / single load / injection surface / inject-only-never-send / better-sidebar=0.

Install

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-prompt-only-forge

After installing, restart dsh web. The plugin will render ✨ in the composer's right slot.

Requires DSH 0.1.5-rc.2 or newer. Depends on the official keyed slot conversation.input.right + inputActions.setDraft; verified on 0.1.5-rc.2.

What you can do with it

After installing, just write drafts in the composer and click ✨:

• "Help me polish this prompt" —— the plugin injects the template; press Enter and the main agent rewrites with full context
• "Rewrite this draft so an Agent can execute it directly" —— the draft embeds into <content>, the main agent detects intent and rewrites
• "The composer already has the template" —— clicking ✨ doesn't re-wrap; just shows a gentle toast
• "The composer is empty" —— injects the template verbatim (keeps the <content> placeholder for you to fill)

The plugin never acts on its own; it only injects the template when the user clicks ✨.

Compatibility

Installing the plugin does not upgrade the host DSH. Since v0.3.0 the plugin is fully re-architected to inject-only, no longer using session replay / sub-agent / single-shot LLM rewrite paths.

• Explicit errors: when inputActions is not injected, shows a toast; no silent fallback.
